Three-fifteen a.m. is an early wake-up but I had to be on the road for 4 to meet well-known nature photographer Milton Heiberg for the second annual World-wide Photowalk

at Orlando Wetlands Park.  He was going to show us his favorite places for getting great sunrise pictures as well as capturing the animals that are awake then.  Nearly thirty thousand people took part from many countries.  All the walks were to be led by well-known photographers in their area.  Only fifty were allowed to participate in any single walk.  This was one of the groups scouting the Orlando area for pictures that day, but the others were in the city.  After the walk, which included some instruction but which was as much making new friends, he critiqued some of our photos.  Here are a few of my favorites. The Black-bellied Whistling Duck struck  a lucky pose.  The otter just came running towards me until it saw me and left the road for shelter. (Note the the pictures above are thumbnails.  Click on them to see the larger version.  The hawk really has a head.)

It was not a spectacular sunrise, but it was well worth the early wake-up.
