18jan14_minwr-7Only 3 people showed up for this trip and as the weather forecast was for rain early in the day we decided to stay closer to home and deferred Audubon Park for another trip. We traveled south down Hwy 3 toward Merritt Island and at the first boat ramp road found quite a few birds including, Yellow-throated, Black and White, Prairie, Pine and Common Yellowthroat Warblers. We also saw Catbirds, Orioles, Eastern Towhee and Scrub Jays. We had planned to bird the boardwalk at the Visitor Center but at 10:30 the skies opened and we were rained out for the day. Ended with 29 species.
